Chapter 31 – Singh Industries

The next morning, Poornima woke up early.

She freshened up and went downstairs.

As usual, she kept Veeresh's suit ready for him and prepared his morning tea and a simple breakfast.

A little later, Veeresh came downstairs after freshening up.

Poornima served him the tea and breakfast.

Veeresh looked at her.

Veeresh: "Poons."

Poornima: "Yes?"

Veeresh: "After your German class, come directly to my company."

Poornima looked at him.

Poornima: "Your company?"

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "I haven't shown you Singh Industries yet."

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "Okay. I'll come."

Veeresh finished his breakfast.

Veeresh: "I'll see you there."

Poornima: "Okay. Have a good day."

Veeresh nodded and left for work.

Poornima cleared the breakfast table, cleaned the kitchen, and then got ready for her German class.

By now, her German had improved considerably.

She could understand conversations and speak simple sentences without hesitation.

Her instructor was pleased with her progress.

Instructor: "Sehr gut, Poornima."

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "Danke."

After the class ended, Poornima went directly to the address Veeresh had given her.

She soon arrived at the impressive headquarters of Singh Industries.

The building was enormous, modern, and surrounded by glass walls.

Poornima walked into the reception area.

The receptionist smiled politely.

Receptionist: "Guten Tag, Ma'am. May I know whom you're looking for?"

Poornima: "Mr. Veeresh Singh Rajawat."

The receptionist checked the system.

Receptionist: "May I know your relationship with him?"

Poornima smiled politely.

Poornima: "He's my husband."

The receptionist immediately looked surprised.

Receptionist: "Oh! I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't know. I'm new here."

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "It's okay."

The receptionist pointed toward the elevators.

Receptionist: "You can go directly to his cabin. Mr. Rajawat is currently in a meeting with investors, but he should be there afterward."

Poornima: "Thank you."

Receptionist: "You're welcome, ma'am."

Poornima took the elevator upstairs.

When she reached Veeresh's floor, an employee showed her toward his private office.

She entered the cabin and looked around.

The office was exactly what she expected from Veeresh.

Elegant.

Minimal.

Everything was perfectly organized.

And almost everything was black.

The furniture, the shelves, the desk accessories—even the small decorative pieces had dark shades.

Poornima sat on the sofa and looked around.

She smiled to herself.

My husband really loves black.

She looked at the black leather sofa beneath her.

Then at his black desk.

Then at the black-and-grey decorations.

Poornima shook her head with a small smile.

Of course.

Even his office is like him.

She settled comfortably on the sofa and waited for Veeresh to finish his meeting.

She had no idea that, just a few rooms away, Veeresh was sitting across from several investors, completely unaware that his wife was quietly sitting in his office for the first time.
