Chapter 32 – Beside Him

Inside the conference room at Singh Industries, Veeresh sat at the head of the table with several investors.

The meeting had been going on for quite some time.

Among them were the representatives from Japan whom Veeresh had been in discussions with regarding his expansion plans.

One of the Japanese investors spoke respectfully.

Investor: "Mr. Rajawat, we have been considering your proposed setup in Japan."

Veeresh listened carefully.

Investor: "We also conducted our background checks and reviewed the company, its operations, and the proposed structure."

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "Alright. Take your time."

The investors exchanged a glance.

Investor: "Very soon, you will receive an email from our side with our decision."

Veeresh: "Alright. As you wish."

The investors stood up.

Investor: "Thank you for your time, Mr. Rajawat."

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "Thank you."

The investors left the conference room.

Rose, who had been waiting outside, entered.

Rose: "Sir."

Veeresh looked at her.

Rose: "Your wife has arrived."

Veeresh's expression changed slightly.

Veeresh: "She's in my cabin?"

Rose: "Yes, sir."

Veeresh: "Ask her to come here."

Rose: "Of course."

Rose immediately went to Veeresh's cabin.

Poornima was sitting quietly on the sofa.

Rose smiled.

Rose: "Ma'am, Mr. Rajawat asked you to come to the conference room."

Poornima stood up.

Poornima: "Okay."

Rose: "The meeting is over."

Poornima nodded.

Poornima: "Thank you."

She followed Rose toward the conference room.

When Poornima entered, she saw Veeresh still sitting at the head of the table.

His expression was tense.

The meeting had clearly irritated him.

He was leaning back in his chair, looking through some documents.

Poornima quietly walked toward him and sat beside him.

Veeresh glanced at her.

Veeresh: "Poons."

Poornima smiled softly.

Poornima: "Hi."

She noticed the glass of water sitting nearby.

She poured fresh water into it and handed it to him.

Poornima: "Drink."

Veeresh took the glass without arguing.

He drank the water slowly.

Poornima watched him.

Poornima: "You're okay now?"

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "Yes."

She looked at his face.

He still appeared irritated.

Without saying anything else, Poornima gently placed her hand over his and gave it a small reassuring squeeze.

Poornima: "Don't worry."

Veeresh looked down at their hands.

Then he looked at her.

For a moment, the tension on his face softened.

He didn't say anything.

He simply turned his hand slightly and held hers.

And for the first time that day, Veeresh felt his irritation slowly disappear.

Poornima didn't ask what had happened.

She didn't demand an explanation.

She simply stayed beside him.

And somehow, that was exactly what he needed.
