Chapter 36 – I’m Coming With You

Veeresh stood quietly for a few moments, trying to steady himself.

His breathing had finally become normal.

He looked at Poornima.

Veeresh: "I'm sorry."

Poornima shook her head.

Poornima: "Veer, don't."

She gently held his hand.

Poornima: "Just be calm. Forget everything that happened."

Veeresh looked away.

Veeresh: "I want to be alone."

Poornima immediately shook her head.

Poornima: "No."

He looked at her.

Poornima: "I'm here."

Veeresh remained silent.

Poornima spoke softly.

Poornima: "Just think nobody is here. Don't think about anything else. Just breathe and calm down."

Veeresh closed his eyes.

He stood there quietly, following her words.

After a few minutes, he opened his eyes again.

His breathing was steady.

Veeresh: "Poons..."

Poornima: "Hmm?"

Veeresh: "Let's leave."

Poornima nodded.

Poornima: "Okay."

She stayed beside him as they walked out of the building.

When they reached the car, Veeresh opened the door for her.

Once they were inside, he looked toward his driver.

Veeresh: "First drop Poornima home."

Poornima immediately looked at him.

Veeresh continued.

Veeresh: "Then take me to my psychologist."

Poornima shook her head.

Poornima: "No."

Veeresh looked at her.

Poornima: "I'm coming with you."

Veeresh: "Poons, go home."

Poornima: "No."

He sighed.

Poornima: "Don't be stubborn, Veer."

Veeresh looked at her for a moment.

She wasn't arguing with him.

She was simply refusing to leave him alone after what had happened.

Veeresh finally nodded.

Veeresh: "Okay."

Poornima smiled faintly.

She held his hand.

The driver started the car and drove them toward Veeresh's psychologist.

Veeresh sat quietly beside her.

He didn't say much.

But he didn't let go of her hand either.

And Poornima stayed beside him throughout the journey, silently reminding him that he wasn't alone anymore.
