Chapter 49 — Their First Kiss

Arnav returned to the room after speaking with Veeresh.

The room was quiet.

Rishi was already asleep.

Ritika was sitting near the table, carefully arranging Rishi's drawings and keeping them together so they wouldn't get damaged.

Arnav stood near the door for a moment, simply watching her.

Ritika noticed him.

Ritika: You came?

Arnav nodded.

He walked toward her.

Without saying anything, he gently pulled her closer.

Ritika looked at him in surprise.

Before she could ask anything, Arnav leaned toward her and kissed her.

It was their first kiss after their marriage.

Ritika froze for a moment, surprised by the sudden affection.

Then her eyes softened.

She kissed him back happily.

When they pulled away, Arnav looked at her.

Arnav: Ritu...

Ritika smiled shyly.

Ritika: Arnav... is everything okay?

He looked at her for a moment.

Arnav: Maybe... in the future.

Ritika didn't understand what he meant, but she didn't press him.

She simply smiled.

Ritika: Come. Sleep.

Arnav nodded.

Arnav: Yes.

They quietly got into bed.

Arnav pulled Ritika closer and wrapped his arms around her.

Ritika rested comfortably against him.

A small smile appeared on her face.

She didn't know what the future held.

She didn't know what Arnav was still keeping inside his heart.

But tonight, she was happy.

She closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep in his arms.

Arnav also closed his eyes, holding his wife close.

And for that night, neither of them asked questions.

They simply slept peacefully together.
