Chapter 64 — A Fresh Start

Arnav and Ritika went to the restaurant together.

They ordered their favourite food and sat across from each other.

The tension from the morning had disappeared.

They talked, laughed a little and enjoyed their meal.

After finishing dinner, they returned to the Qureshi mansion.

The moment they entered together, everyone noticed the change in their expressions.

Shabana looked at Rehnaa and smiled.

Shabana: Didi, I think they solved everything.

Rehnaa smiled.

Rehnaa: Yes, Shabu.

She looked toward Arnav and Ritika.

Rehnaa: I just hope our Arnav doesn't spoil his relationship with Ritika again.

Shabana laughed softly.

Shabana: Yes, Didi. Hopefully he has learned his lesson.

Both women smiled.

Upstairs, Ritika changed her saree into a comfortable one.

Rishi was sitting at the table, doing his homework.

Ritika: Finish your homework properly, beta.

Rishi: Yes, Mumma.

Arnav changed into his tracks and came into the room.

He quietly walked behind Ritika and wrapped his arms around her.

Ritika smiled.

Arnav: Why is madam smiling?

Ritika: Nothing.

Arnav: Hmm. Something is definitely there.

Ritika laughed softly.

Arnav rested his chin near her shoulder.

Arnav: When is the interview, Ritu?

Ritika turned slightly toward him.

Ritika: Nothing has been told yet. I have only applied.

Arnav nodded.

Arnav: Then don't worry about it.

Ritika: Hmm.

Arnav: When they call you, we'll deal with it then.

Ritika smiled.

Ritika: "We'll"?

Arnav: Yes. We'll.

Ritika looked at him.

Arnav: If you get the interview, I'll help you prepare.

Ritika: Really?

Arnav: Of course.

He gently hugged her again.

Arnav: I told you this morning. No more deciding things alone.

Ritika smiled.

Ritika: And no more assuming?

Arnav: No more assuming.

Ritika: Good.

Rishi suddenly looked up from his homework.

Rishi: Baba, Mumma, can you both stop talking and help me with this question?

Arnav and Ritika looked at each other.

Arnav smiled.

Arnav: Coming, champ.

Ritika: See? Your son is calling you.

Arnav: Our son.

Ritika's smile became warmer.

Ritika: Yes. Our son.

The three of them sat together around Rishi's homework, the difficult morning finally feeling like something that belonged to the past.
