Chapter 89 — Rishi and Mannat's Nikkah

The day of Rishi and Mannat's nikkah finally arrived.

The Qureshi mansion was beautifully decorated, filled with flowers, lights and the sound of laughter.

Rishi wore an elegant ivory sherwani with a simple embroidered stole. Arnav looked at his son and smiled proudly.

Arnav: Look at you, champ.

Rishi smiled.

Rishi: Baba, I'm nervous.

Arnav placed his hand on Rishi's shoulder.

Arnav: You faced fighter-pilot training. This is nothing.

Rishi laughed.

Meanwhile, Mannat was dressed in a beautiful traditional outfit, with delicate jewellery and a simple veil.

Ritika sat beside her, fixing her veil gently.

Ritika: Beta, don't be nervous.

Mannat smiled.

Mannat: I'm happy, Aunty.

Ritika: Then remember that happiness.

The Nikkah

The families gathered in the nikkah hall.

On one side sat Mannat with the women of the family—Ritika, Shabana, Rehana, Poornima and Thoshini.

On the other side sat Rishi with Arnav, Abhram, Devraj, Veeresh and the other family members.

The Maulvi saab began with a prayer, asking Allah to bless the couple with love, mercy, understanding and a peaceful life together.

Then the Mahr was announced and agreed upon by both families.

The Maulvi turned toward Mannat.

Maulvi: Mannat beti, kya aap Rishi Qureshi ko apna shohar qubool karti hain?

Mannat looked down shyly.

Mannat: Qubool hai.

The Maulvi asked again.

Maulvi: Mannat beti, kya aapko Rishi Qureshi apne shohar ke taur par qubool hain?

Mannat smiled.

Mannat: Qubool hai.

The Maulvi asked for the third time.

Mannat: Qubool hai.

The women smiled warmly.

Then the Maulvi turned toward Rishi.

Maulvi: Rishi Qureshi, kya aap Mannat ko apni biwi qubool karte hain?

Rishi looked toward his family and then answered firmly.

Rishi: Qubool hai.

Maulvi: Kya aap Mannat ko apni zindagi ki humsafar qubool karte hain?

Rishi: Qubool hai.

For the third time, the Maulvi asked.

Rishi smiled.

Rishi: Qubool hai.

The families smiled and whispered Alhamdulillah.

The nikkah was complete.

Rishi signed the nikahnama, followed by Mannat.

Arnav watched his son with proud eyes.

Ritika wiped away a tear.

Rishi then walked toward Mannat.

He gently lifted her veil.

For a moment, they simply looked at each other.

Rishi smiled.

Rishi: You're my wife now.

Mannat smiled shyly.

Mannat: And you're my husband.

Rishi gently held her hand.

Rishi: My wingman?

Mannat laughed softly.

Mannat: Always.

Arnav watched them and smiled.

Arnav: My son found his wingman and now made her his wife.

Ritika laughed.

Ritika: Arnav!

Everyone laughed.

Abhram blessed the couple.

Shabana and Rehana hugged Mannat warmly.

Devraj smiled proudly at Rishi.

Veeresh looked at Rishi and said jokingly:

Veeresh: Take care of her, fighter pilot.

Rishi smiled.

Rishi: Always.

Mannat stood beside him, holding his hand.

After everything Rishi had gone through, he had finally found someone who chose him wholeheartedly.

And surrounded by both families, Rishi and Mannat began their life together as husband and wife.
