Chapter 91 — Rudra and Ayat's Wedding

The Qureshi and Singh families were once again preparing for a wedding.

This time, it was Rudra and Ayat.

Rudra was Veeresh and Poornima's son, while Ayat was Arnav and Ritika's daughter.

Both families were emotional because Ayat and Rudra had grown up around each other, and everyone had watched their relationship slowly turn into love.

🌸 The Hindu Wedding

The Hindu wedding rituals were held first.

Ayat wore a beautiful red lehenga with elegant jewellery, while Rudra wore an ivory sherwani.

The mandap was decorated with flowers, and both families sat around them.

The priest began with Ganesh Puja, seeking blessings for the couple's new life.

Haldi

The family members applied haldi to Rudra and Ayat.

Arhaan deliberately put extra haldi on Rudra.

Rudra: Arhaan!

Arhaan laughed.

Arnav: Leave him, Rudra. It's his duty as your brother.

Everyone laughed.

Mehendi

Ayat's mehendi ceremony was filled with music and laughter.

Rudra secretly looked at her from across the room.

Veeresh noticed.

Veeresh: Stop staring at my daughter.

Rudra: Dad, she's my bride.

Veeresh: Still my daughter.

Poornima laughed.

Wedding Ceremony

The next day, Ayat entered the mandap wearing her red bridal lehenga.

Rudra stood waiting for her.

The priest began the wedding rituals.

Kanyadan was performed by Arnav and Ritika.

Arnav placed Ayat's hand into Rudra's.

Arnav: Take care of my daughter.

Rudra nodded.

Rudra: I promise.

Ritika became emotional as she blessed them.

The couple then performed the Hastamilap, followed by the sacred wedding rituals.

The priest guided them through the seven pheras, with each round symbolising promises of nourishment, strength, prosperity, happiness, family, health and lifelong friendship.

Finally, Rudra applied sindoor to Ayat's forehead and tied the mangalsutra around her neck.

Ayat became his wife.

Rudra smiled at her.

Rudra: My Noor.

Ayat smiled shyly.

Ayat: Your Noor.

Everyone clapped.

Veeresh wiped his eyes secretly.

Poornima noticed.

Poornima: Veer...

Veeresh: Don't say anything.

Poornima smiled.

🌙 The Nikkah

The families then gathered for the nikkah ceremony.

Ayat changed into a beautiful cream-and-gold traditional outfit.

Rudra wore a traditional sherwani.

A partition was arranged between the bride and groom as the Maulvi saab began the ceremony.

The Maulvi recited prayers and explained the responsibilities of marriage, asking Allah to bless Rudra and Ayat with love, mercy and understanding.

The Mahr was announced and accepted.

The Maulvi then asked Ayat:

Maulvi: Ayat beti, kya aap Rudra ko apna shohar qubool karti hain?

Ayat: Qubool hai.

The Maulvi asked again.

Ayat: Qubool hai.

For the third time:

Ayat: Qubool hai.

Then the Maulvi turned toward Rudra.

Maulvi: Rudra, kya aap Ayat ko apni biwi qubool karte hain?

Rudra: Qubool hai.

Again:

Rudra: Qubool hai.

And for the third time:

Rudra: Qubool hai.

The families smiled.

Alhamdulillah.

The nikahnama was brought forward.

Ayat signed it.

Then Rudra signed it.

The Maulvi blessed their marriage with prayers for a peaceful and loving life together.

After the nikkah, Rudra walked toward Ayat.

He gently lifted her veil and smiled.

Rudra: Now officially my Noor.

Ayat laughed softly.

Ayat: And you're officially stuck with me.

Rudra: Happily.

Arnav smiled proudly.

Arnav: My daughter has found someone who truly loves her.

Veeresh immediately looked at Arnav.

Veeresh: And my son has finally stopped asking me to speak to you about the proposal.

Everyone laughed.

Poornima hugged Ayat.

Ritika blessed her daughter.

Arnav hugged Rudra.

Arnav: Take care of her.

Rudra: I will, Mamu.

Veeresh hugged Ayat and whispered:

Veeresh: Be happy, beta.

Ayat: I will, Papa.

Two families, two traditions, and one marriage had brought everyone even closer.

And Rudra and Ayat began their new life together—with love, faith, family and mutual respect.
