Chapter 92 — Arhaan and Thoshini's Wedding
The day Arhaan had been talking about for years had finally arrived.
Arhaan, son of Arnav and Ritika, was marrying Thoshini, daughter of Veeresh and Poornima.
The entire family was emotional and excited.
Arhaan stood in front of the mirror wearing his ivory sherwani.
Arnav walked in and looked at him.
Arnav: So, the boy who once threatened your Mamu's company is finally getting married.
Arhaan laughed.
Arhaan: Baba, I told you she was my tulips.
Arnav smiled.
Arnav: And now you're finally marrying your tulips.
Across the mansion, Ritika was helping Thoshini get ready.
Thoshini wore a beautiful red bridal lehenga with traditional jewellery.
Ritika adjusted her veil.
Ritika: You look beautiful, beta.
Thoshini smiled.
Thoshini: Thank you, Aunty.
Poornima became emotional seeing her daughter dressed as a bride.
Poornima: My little girl has grown up.
Veeresh stood at the door.
Veeresh: Don't make me emotional.
Poornima smiled.
Poornima: You already are.
🌸 The Hindu Wedding
The wedding mandap was beautifully decorated with flowers.
The priest began with Ganesh Puja, seeking blessings for the couple.
Arhaan entered the mandap with his family.
When Thoshini entered, Arhaan couldn't take his eyes off her.
Arhaan whispered:
Arhaan: My tulips.
Thoshini smiled shyly.
Kanyadan
Veeresh and Poornima performed the kanyadan.
Veeresh held Thoshini's hand and placed it in Arhaan's.
Veeresh: Take care of my daughter.
Arhaan nodded seriously.
Arhaan: I promise, Mamu.
Veeresh: And remember, I'm still watching you.
Arhaan smiled.
Arhaan: I know.
Everyone laughed.
Hastamilap
Their hands were joined together as the priest recited the sacred mantras.
Ritika watched emotionally as her son began his married life.
Arnav smiled proudly.
Seven Pheras
Arhaan and Thoshini stood together for the sacred seven pheras, making promises to support one another through life.
With each round, they promised nourishment, strength, prosperity, happiness, family, health and lifelong companionship.
After the pheras, Arhaan applied sindoor to Thoshini's forehead and tied the mangalsutra around her neck.
Thoshini looked at him with tears in her eyes.
Arhaan whispered:
Arhaan: You're my wife now.
Thoshini smiled.
Thoshini: And you're my husband.
Arhaan: My tulips forever.
🌙 The Nikkah
Later, the family gathered for the nikkah ceremony.
Thoshini changed into a beautiful cream-and-gold traditional outfit.
Arhaan wore a traditional sherwani.
The Maulvi saab began with prayers and explained the responsibilities of marriage.
The Mahr was announced and accepted.
The Maulvi turned toward Thoshini.
Maulvi: Thoshini beti, kya aap Arhaan ko apna shohar qubool karti hain?
Thoshini smiled softly.
Thoshini: Qubool hai.
The question was asked again.
Thoshini: Qubool hai.
For the third time:
Thoshini: Qubool hai.
Then the Maulvi turned toward Arhaan.
Maulvi: Arhaan, kya aap Thoshini ko apni biwi qubool karte hain?
Arhaan: Qubool hai.
Again:
Arhaan: Qubool hai.
And for the third time:
Arhaan: Qubool hai.
The family smiled.
Alhamdulillah.
The nikahnama was brought forward.
Thoshini signed first.
Arhaan then signed it.
The Maulvi offered a prayer for their marriage and their future together.
After the nikkah, Arhaan walked toward Thoshini.
He gently lifted her veil.
Arhaan: My tulips.
Thoshini laughed softly.
Thoshini: Still calling me that?
Arhaan: Forever.
He held her hand.
Arnav hugged Thoshini.
Arnav: Welcome to our family, beta.
Ritika hugged her.
Ritika: You're not just our daughter-in-law. You're our daughter.
Thoshini's eyes filled with tears.
Then Veeresh came forward.
He looked at Arhaan.
Veeresh: Remember what you told me years ago?
Arhaan smiled.
Arhaan: Which one?
Veeresh: "She will choose me."
Arhaan looked at Thoshini.
Arhaan: And she did.
Veeresh looked at his daughter and smiled.
Veeresh: Then take care of each other.
Poornima hugged both of them.
Poornima: Be happy.
Arhaan and Thoshini stood together surrounded by both families.
The boy who once brought her tulips had finally married the girl he had always called his tulips.
And their families celebrated not only a wedding, but the love story that had grown with them over the years.
